Your cover letter and résumé are often your first impression on a future employer. You want that impression to be the best. Now, what if I told you that Harvard (yes, that Harvard) has free resources online to help you in your job search? Here are 4 resources we have found:
- From the Undergrad Resource Series: This free document has tips on how to make a good résumé with examples and ideas for good descriptive words to use.
- An Extension School Resource: This one starts off identically to the one above, but it contains several more examples of good résumés.
- From the Office of Career Services: Here you will find tips specifically for CVs and cover letters and examples of good ones.
- If you learn better through watching a video, this video will give you a step-by-step guide for making your résumé.
Writing your résumé can seem like a daunting task, but don’t worry! There are a lot of people in your shoes right now, and there is a lot of help out there to help you make the best first impression you can — even from Ivy League schools!
