INTERNATIONAL

Feminists for Life is concerned for the rights of women worldwide.

Feminists for Life has been designated a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) at the United Nations. The Millennium Development Summit of world leaders gathered at the United Nations in September 2005 to evaluate progress of the Millennium Development Goals. The goals were designed to reduce the devastating impact of extreme poverty in the world by the year 2015. FFL shares its perspective on each of the Millennium Development Goals in light of the recent summit.

Abortion is promoted internationally as a "reproductive right" and legal abortion is falsely portrayed as "safe." But in every country and region of the world, abortion is a reflection that the needs of women have not been met. Women Deserve Better® than abortion, no matter where they live.

FFL President Serrin Foster calls for a pro-woman, pro-life solution to worldwide violence against women in an issue of The American Feminist entitled Crimes Against Women Around The World. (Other articles in the issue include: "Six Billion's a Crowd?", "The Sex Industry Exposed," "In the Name of Honor," "Access Denied," and "Women's Work.")

The following topics and articles give FFL's perspective on issues affecting international debate on pro-life laws and legislation. To access many of the issues below you will first need to register by clicking here.

Pro-Life Feminism

Early feminists were adamantly opposed to abortion. In the words of Alice Paul, author of the original 1923 U.S. Equal Rights Amendment, "Abortion is the ultimate exploitation of women." Today's pro-life feminists continue their tradition by advocating for women and their unborn children.

The modern women's movement abandoned the vision of the early feminists, who opposed abortion and proposed women-centered solutions. "The Feminist Case Against Abortion" has been recognized as one of twenty-two "Great Speeches in History" in an anthology on Women's Rights.
